RACINE, WI (CBS 58) -- Our friends at the Wisconsin Humane Society work so hard for our furry friends, but they also do so much to educate the next generation.

Stephanie Nespoli joined Racine & Me with some upcoming event details.

Kids Night Out

WHS hosts Kids’ Night Out the second Friday of the month at our Racine Campus. It’s for children in grades 1 through 6, and it runs from 5pm to 7:30pm. The next Kids Night Out is Friday, November 11. Kids’ Night Out is a great way for kiddos to spend an evening making new friends, doing crafts, and meeting some of the wonderful animals at our shelter. Plus, it gives parents a chance to enjoy a Friday evening to themselves! You do need to pre-register and there is limited enrollment for social distancing purposes so be sure to get your tickets as soon as possible.

Scout Night

If your child is in a Scouts program, there are a couple options we offer. One is Girl Scouts Night for K5 through 12th grade. Troops get to interact with animals, make a craft to benefit our residents, and learn how to stay safe around pets. Upcoming sessions are Thursday, October 20 from 4:45pm-5:45pm or 6pm-7pm. Also Thursday, November 17 with the same time slots.

Field Trips

WHS offers a variety of field trips for all grade levels! We offer both in-person and virtual programs for students K4 through Grade 12, not only at our Racine Campus, but at our Milwaukee and Ozaukee locations as well. Field trips are a fun and educational way to engage students with curriculum that aligns with state and national standards and can be tailored to accommodate the needs of your classroom. Field trips include a virtual behind-the-scenes tour prior to your visit, an on-site tour of our adoption area, a fun lesson that aligns with your educational goals, and a chance for students to meet an animal.

Birthday Parties

The Wisconsin Humane Society offers birthday parties for kids ages 6-12! We take care of all the details so you can just bring your guests and enjoy the day. In-person party packages include cake & juice, a tour of our adoption area, and a meet & greet with some of our animal guests! Parties are for two hours, and 10 kids can attend. If you prefer to celebrate virtually, we also host birthday parties on Zoom. For more information, or to book your child’s birthday party, visit www.wihumane.org and click on the tab that says, “For Kids.”
