Racine police seek details after shooting inside home near Athens and Oakdale Avenues

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Racine police are looking for more information about a shooting that happened inside a home near Athens and Oakdale Avenues Tuesday, March 17. 

Authorities were called to the home around 4:15 p.m. 

Upon arrival, police found a man suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. 

Police said the suspected shooter, identified as a 21-year-old man, was still inside the home along with a woman and child and a tactical situation ensued. 

Police said eventually the woman and child were able to leave the home. Negotiations continued with the suspect, who eventually surrendered to police around 9:15 p.m. 

Charges are pending.
