RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- At the Memorial Hall in Racine, a group of students got a trial run in what life is like as an adult.
Around 100 students participated in "Reality Check" Monday, an interactive simulation of real-world experiences.
Students were taught important lessons on topics such as building a career and creating a balanced budget.
The event acts as a safe space for students to learn before facing obstacles outside of the classroom.
"Now the best part is, is that the students get to make all the decisions today and hopefully they make a couple of mistakes," said Victor Trasher, director of community engagement, Educators Credit Union. "Because like for many of us, we made mistakes not in a safe environment, so that is what the learning really is today."
Navigating the workforce was not all. Students also chose their retirement age and how to save up for that goal.
