MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Red Cross of Wisconsin needs volunteers now that dozens of their people are deployed for hurricane relief in the southern United States.
"We're stretched thin," said Jennifer Warren with the Red Cross of Wisconsin. "When you have two hurricanes back to back, we have all of our people out right now."
The Red Cross has sent 58 people to help victims of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton in Florida, the Carolinas, Georgia and Tennessee.
In western North Carolina, which was hit hard by Helene, Red Cross workers are still driving through the mountains simply trying to find people who need help.
"Great pockets of need of individuals who simply have not received resources. Even almost three weeks after the storm, still are without power, still are without water," said Rebecca Rockhill, Red Cross worker in North Carolina.
The Red Cross also provided an update about its efforts in Florida in the wake of both hurricanes.
