MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- For just the third time in the last 35 years, the Milwaukee Brewers are on a 10-game winning streak. They're now tied for first place in the National League.
The Brewers swept the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers twice this month. They'll finish the season series a perfect 6 and 0. No one has done that to a defending champ in all of Major League Baseball (MLB) since 1998.
Sunday night's 6-5 win was a close call for the Crew. Seven of Milwaukee's 10 wins during this streak have come by either one or two runs. The key to their success has been everyone chipping in -- whether it's the bullpen or the bottom of the order, every player on the roster has an impact.
"Obviously it's a lot easier when you've already won the series, you're on a win streak. You don't feel like you need to do more. You know, one through nine, everyone just took the game one pitch at a time and had competitive at-bats. If you keep doing that over and over and over, only good things are gonna happen," said Isaac Collins, FanDuel Sports Network.
The winning streak started with Brandon Woodruff on the mound for the first time since 2023. He'll be back on the bump Monday, trying to make it 11 straight.
