MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Reince Priebus, chairman of the RNC Host Committee, spoke to the Rotary Club Tuesday, Oct. 10, sharing updates on the plans for next year's Republican National Convention (RNC).
He said preparations are going well and fundraising is on target.
Priebus estimates the convention will bring $200 million to the Milwaukee area, and he talked about how the committee is trying to spread that money around.
"Where we have over 1,200 small businesses that are part of a portal inside the Milwaukee Host Committee, so that when contracts get put out for bid, they're the first ones in line," Priebus said.
Priebus praised hometown leaders for ignoring partisan differences and welcoming the Republican convention.
The RNC is scheduled for July 15-18, 2024.
