Reports: Aaron Rodgers' season over after suffering torn Achilles tendon

GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- CBS Sports is reporting that former Packers MVP Aaron Rodgers' first season with the New York Jets has officially ended, following a torn Achillies he suffered on Monday, Sept. 11 against the Buffalo Bills.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter also reported the news:

Other journalists are confirming the unfortunate news for the Jets and Rodgers, including Ian Rappaport of NFL Network.

Rodgers' injury will impact the Packers, too.

When Green Bay traded the four-time MVP to the Jets, a conditional second round pick for the 2024 draft was included. That pick would have become a first rounder if Rodgers played at least 65% of the Jets' snaps. Now, it will stay in the second round.
