Ceremonial groundbreaking held for future Milwaukee Public Museum
WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Help for nearly 100 fire victims in Waukesha has arrived, thanks to the American Red Cross and local partners.
Last Friday, residents were displaced by a fire that destroyed an apartment building on Shepherd. The goal is to have a one-stop shop for residents to get help, both with support groups and government agencies.
"Think about everything you'd lose during a fire and the places you'd have to go to get that restored," said disaster responder Bill Satterlee. "You might of lost a passport, a driver's license, birth certificates, you might need food, you might need clothing or furniture."
The resource center for residents is at Elmbrook Church on Barker Road in Brookfield.
