MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's hard to imagine that we're expecting the weather to get even warmer in the coming days, nearing record highs for early February.
It's one of many signs that winter will be over before we know it.
"We see this as the first official day of summer, we're right around the corner from baseball."
That's right, baseball season is fast approaching. The Milwaukee Brewers loaded up their truck for spring training Tuesday, Feb. 6.
Pitchers and catchers will report to their Arizona complex on Feb. 14 as the team starts to prepare for the 2024 season.
The Brewers' biggest move this offseason- dealing former CY Young winner Corbin Burnes to Baltimore in exchange for two young players and the 34th pick in the 2024 MLB Draft.
It was a trade polarizing for Milwaukee fans, but the teams says as baseball's smallest market, they made a move that helps them win this year and in years to come.
"We really like this year's team; we think it'll be a very good team. We've very bullish on the future as well," said Tyler Barnes, senior VP of communications.
Baseball America ranked the Brewers' minor league prospects as the second best in all of baseball, and the team says many of those players will see big league action this year.
Hopefully some of the young talent the front office is excited about will have American Family Field rocking soon.
