MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Governor Tony Evers and the Department of Workforce Development are honoring Wisconsin employers for supporting veterans.
On Tuesday, employers in Southeast Wisconsin -- Rockwell Automation and We Energies -- were presented the Vets Ready Employer Initiative award.
The initiative encourages employers to help veterans re-enter civilian life.
"This initiative encourages employers to build a support system within their workplace," said Gov. Evers. "Hire and retain more veterans and connect to veterans and their families in the community."
Eight other companies in the state of Wisconsin have received the Vets Ready Employer Initiative award.
