MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Salvation Army made some of its final preparations for their annual Christmas Day feast Monday.
Salvation Army volunteers gathered at the Baird Center to put the final touches on their 35th annual feast.
Everyone in attendance will receive a sit-down meal with turkey, mashed potatoes, and green beans.
About 400 volunteers are set to prepare and serve meals for an estimated 4,000 people.
"This has been happening a long time before I arrived and will happen a long time after I leave," said Shelly McClintock, divisional commander, Salvation Army. "But it's the volunteers, it's the sponsors, it's the donations, it's the community that makes this happen."
The dine-in-only meal will be served from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public.
