MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Salvation Army is handing out free cleanup kits for impacted residents. These cleanup kits are designed to help fight harmful bacteria, which is often left by the presence of floodwater.
Although this road to a full recovery is rather long, these essentials could be a huge step in the right direction.
"It's a need, we want to fill a need," said Benny Benedict, director of Emergency Disaster Services, Salvation Army. "It also helps them in their own recovery. Rather than sitting there with a lot of devastation, they can start getting the trash bags out and loading stuff up. It's that part of the process."
These cleanup kits come with a 5-gallon bucket as well as cleaning supplies such as detergent, face masks and garbage bags.
If you were impacted by flood damage and need a kit, the Salvation Army will continue handing out supplies until Saturday afternoon.
