Schimel named 'First Assistant U.S. Attorney' days after interim role expired

CBS 58

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Brad Schimel will keep leading the U.S. Attorney's Office in Wisconsin's Eastern District under a new title.

He's now the "First Assistant U.S. Attorney" appointed by Attorney General Pam Bondi.

A role that's typically second-in-command but for now, he'll remain in charge until a new U.S. Attorney is named.

This comes just days after his interim role expired.
