MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The sentencing hearing for former Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan is underway at the federal courthouse in downtown Milwaukee Wednesday.

Dugan was convicted in December of one felony count of obstructing federal agents who were trying to make an immigration arrest outside her courtroom.

Dugan is expected to address the court in her first public comments since the incident last April.

Her legal team is asking for a sentence of time already served and will work to prove her character to the judge.

The U.S. government is asking for a sentence of 15-21 months in prison.

Dugan did not speak to our team when she arrived at the courthouse Wednesday morning.
