Serenity Inns receives $300K grant to expand Milwaukee recovery efforts

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Serenity Inns, a Milwaukee-based recovery and treatment center, has received a $300,000 grant from the Bradley Foundation. The grant aims to enhance the center's services for individuals dealing with substance use disorder, particularly those without adequate insurance.

The funds will be utilized for a new 14-bed facility at 2830 W. Brown Street, designed to expand treatment capacity in the community.

Serenity Inns focuses on residential treatment for men with alcohol and drug addictions. The additional facility is expected to provide more comprehensive treatment options, including therapeutic spaces, a library and an exercise room. The expansion is tailored to address both mental and physical aspects of recovery.

Ken Ginlack, CEO of Serenity Inns, commented on the grant in a Nov. 17 press release, saying, "This grant enables us to save more lives and deepen our impact in the community, especially at a time when the opioid and fentanyl crises have heightened the urgency for such services."

The organization also noted that Serenity Inns has a history of aiding recovery, with over 650 men treated through its program.
