Serious injuries and an arrest following a crash on Highway 175

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A crash involving three vehicles on Saturday, Jan. 14 left two people seriously injured shortly before 1 p.m. The crash occurred on 175 headed north at Vliet St.

A press release from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office reports that an SUV driven by a 40-year-old man was struck by a car driven by a 53-year-old woman. The SUV then veered toward the median wall before being hit by a third vehicle driven by a 24-year-old man which also struck the wall head-on.

The 40-year-old is listed in "critically stable condition" after being transported to the hospital with multiple broken ribs, as well as pain in his neck, back and head.

The 24-year-old was reportedly transported to an area hospital with at least one broken rib, as well as pain in his neck, back and head.

The 53-year-old driver of the vehicle that MCSO says initiated the crash did not claim to be injured and denied medical care at the scene. She was taken into custody and charged with operating after suspension as well as three counts of causing great bodily harm.
