Several Milwaukee Co. facilities to close as county executive declares snow emergency

MILWAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- County Executive Crowley has extended the snow emergency for Milwaukee County through noon on Saturday, Jan. 13.

MILWAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- County Executive David Crowley has declared a snow emergency for Friday, Jan. 12, with snow accumulation and high winds anticipated.

All "non-essential departments" will be closed for the safety of employees and the public.

Several county facilities will be closed on Friday, Jan. 12, including the Milwaukee County Courthouse, Vel Phillips Detention Center, and the Marcia P. Coggs building (with the exception of Behavioral Health Mobile Crisis Teams). 

Unsheltered residents are encouraged to call 211 for information on the closest warming center open to them.
