Sheboygan man dead after crashing pickup truck into tree

KOHLER, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 36-year-old Sheboygan man is dead after crashing into a tree.

The Kohler Police Department responded to a one-vehicle crash on Highland Drive, south of State Highway 23 around 8:15 p.m. on Saturday.

Upon arrival, officers located a pickup truck that had crossed over the traffic lane, over a curb, and onto a grass median where it struck a tree.

Despite lifesaving efforts, the sole occupant and driver of the car, a 36-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Kohler Police Department is investigating speed and alcohol as potential factors in the crash.

The victim's name is not being released at this time.
