Sheboygan police arrest 22-year-old who said he fired a gun in the air to break up fight

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) --- Sheboygan police say a 22-year-old Two Rivers man was arrested after firing a gun into the air to break up a fight Sunday, April 18.

According to police, officers were in the area of Indiana and 9th Street when they heard gunshots. They saw a vehicle leaving the area and conducted a traffic stop.

Officials say during the traffic stop, officers recovered a handgun and arrested the 22-year-old for endangering safety by dangerous use of a weapon.

The man allegedly told police he fired the shots into the air to break up a fight. 

There were no reported injuries resulting from the incident.
