'Sister Cities Day' celebration set for City Hall in Milwaukee 🌎
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee is preparing for its "Sister Cities Day" celebration at City Hall, to honor its flourishing international affiliations.
The event, on Wednesday, July 12, will be hosted by Sister Cities Committee Chair Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II.
Alderman Stamper noted in a recent press release that the event serves to fortify the "people-to-people diplomacy" inherent in sister city relationships. According to Stamper, Milwaukee's counterparts from Bomet County, Kenya; Galway, Ireland; Irpin, Ukraine; Tarime District, Tanzania and Zadar, Croatia will participate.
The celebrations, beginning at 10 a.m., are scheduled to offer cultural performances and food. A formal program is planned for noon, with refreshments to follow. The event is open to the public.
