Six people injured, two seriously in multi-vehicle crash on I-41 in Fond du Lac County

FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Six people were injured, two seriously, in a multi vehicle crash on I-41 near Town Line Road in Fond du Lac County Saturday afternoon.

The accident happened around 4:30 Saturday as a traffic stop was being conducted by a Wisconsin State Trooper.

According to the Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Office, a semi-trailer truck collided with the vehicle in front of it as traffic was merging. A third vehicle was also struck and overturned.

A 35-year-old Oshkosh man was injured in the crash and taken by helicopter to a hospital for treatment of what is described as serious injuries.

A 34-year-old Oshkosh also received serious injuries and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Four other people received minor injuries and were treated at local hospitals.

The southbound bound lanes and one north bound lane of I-41 were closed to traffic for about 2 hours following the accident.
