MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Bacon lovers and enthusiasts alike were in heaven today during the 13th annual "Baconfest Milwaukee" at Potawatomi Casino Hotel.

Sizzling, sweet, savory. However you take your bacon, you can eat it at Baconfest.

"Bacon jams, sliders, just regular bacon rubbed bacon specialty, all different kinds of specialty items," said Patrick Nienow, marketing director for 102.9 The Hog.

More than 40 Milwaukee area restaurants and 900 pounds of savory goodness.

"Everybody loves it; it's what brings people together; you can put it in just about anything," said Nienow.

It's not just about bacon; it's about the fashion.

"This is the bacon troth; I made it specifically for this event. We've been coming here for the last 11 of the 13 years," said Ron Geis, bacon connoisseur.

Thousands of bacon lovers sampled bacon creations like bacon-wrapped pineapple, bourbon bacon jam tart, and even a brown butter maple peach paczki.

"It's bacon galore, good recipes, good food, and it's well worth the money," Dean Cook, bacon connoisseur.

All of the vendors will have a chance to submit their best bacon creations, and the judges will select one winner to go on to compete in the World Food Championship in Indianapolis.
