MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Bronzeville Sleepover for Education is happening outside Pete's Fruit Market near North Avenue and MLK Drive Friday night.
The group is collecting donated school supplies for local students in need.
"There's been times when teachers have to buy or purchase school supplies out of pocket, because they know some students come to school not prepared," said Tracey Dent of Peace for Change Alliance.
The group will be out all night collecting school supplies for MPS students. Donations can be dropped off until 8 a.m. Saturday morning.
