MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Fire crews worked to ventilate an apartment building on Milwaukee's east side Wednesday, June 17.
The Milwaukee Fire Department tell us electrical lines were smoking at the Franklin House Wednesday morning.
Residents were evacuated while they cleared out the smoke.
We spoke to a woman who said she was inside when fire crews first came to the scene.
"It was a really vague smell, but you could smell almost like burning rubber," resident Pam Schmaling said. "That's when I started grabbing personal possessions and left."
No injuries were reported and residents were eventually able to go back inside their units.
