MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's the last day of National Manufacturing Week -- seven days dedicated to promoting local career opportunities in the field.

And to wrap the week up, a group of South Milwaukee High School students took the day to learn about the steel industry.

Steele Solutions hosted a tour of their Rawson location, showing students who are interested in STEM the facility.

Team members went over how the industry works and outlined what a career is like for someone who works in sales or engineering.

One employee says learning about the steel industry at a young age can help these students tremendously when they enter the job market.

"We wanted to host them, come and do a get to know the business a little more," said Victor Roque, Steele Solutions. "Kinda tailor the day to show them our manufacturing process so they can see the ins and outs of Steele Solutions but also educate them on other opportunities."

And the tour was not all. Steele Solutions surprised South Milwaukee High School with a $1,000 donation going toward their manufacturing program.
