Spring into gardening with planting tips from Riverwest Grown

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Riverwest Grown has hundreds of plants, most potted in upcycled pots for your choosing. Bringing home a new plant can boost your mood in the winter months. Right now, on the heels of spring, it's time to give your plants a little more love. 

"With the spring coming, the days are going to be longer, there's going to be more sun, it's a great time to fertilize your plants so they have enough energy to start growing and keep growing throughout the spring and summer months," said Nick Reuland, the owner of Riverwest Grown Plant Shop. 

It's also a good time to start thinking about your outdoor garden. 

"... Have your seeds ready. Some seeds get sold out really quick, and if you don't get them early enough, you won't have that plant," said Reuland.
