MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A much needed refuge for Milwaukee's homeless population, especially with temperatures expected to plunge overnight.
St. Ben's Community Meal, on 10th and State, typically offer a nightly meal to those who need it. But tonight, the tables and chairs will be moved for cots, so anyone who needs to get out of the cold can get a warm night's sleep.
The friars who work there told CBS 58 that they have spots for 60 people, and they expect them to be filled.
"People really appreciate this place, and we are already full. You know, last night we had the men's side was complete and the women's side we had like 15 people," said Brother Henryk Cisowski with St. Ben's Community meal.
The warming center's overnight program at St. Ben's will stay open through march.
