MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin Department of Justice is investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting in St. Croix County. Officials say it happened just after 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 6.

The DOJ reports a St. Croix County Sheriff's deputy responded to a potential drunk driving incident near the township of Glenwood, and after they arrived, the deputy reported hearing gunshots. Officials say the deputy was hit and taken to a hospital where they later died. The suspect ran away and was later found dead in a wooded area with a gunshot wound.

Officials say there is no current threat to the community, and the names of the deputy and the suspect have not been released. The Wisconsin Fraternal Order of Police posted on Facebook that this is the fourth officer to be killed in the line of duty this year.
