State of Wisconsin turns 174 years old today

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Happy birthday to -- US!
The state of Wisconsin became the 30th state on May 29, 1848.
There are several theories as to the origin of the name Wisconsin -- most having to do with the state being named after the Wisconsin River.
There were Native American and French words, which eventually became transformed into the word Wisconsin we know today.
