After a cloudy weekend, we finally saw some sunshine Monday morning but the pretty sunrise will be short lived as clouds quickly increase Monday ahead of a very likely rain chance. By noon rain starts to move in from the south with everyone in southeast Wisconsin seeing steady rain by 2 or 3 PM. That rain likely continues, steady and heavy at times, through Monday night with showers lingering through mid-morning Tuesday.
A good soaking rain is likely Monday into Tuesday for most with at least a half inch of rain expected and some areas getting as much as 1.25" by noon on Tuesday. The additional rainfall will really help some of the drought conditions across Wisconsin.
After the likely rain Monday and Tuesday we dry out Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday has a slight chance for some precipitation and if it does happen it could fall as rain or snow chances or a mix. Thursday also has a similar chance.
In addition to the steady rain expected Monday night, the wind will also increase. Most of the day Monday the wind will stay light from 5-15 mph but that wind increases to 40 mph Monday night and stays strong most of Tuesday with gusts to 35 mph. The breeze will continue through Wednesday.
