MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) – Republican Congressman Bryan Steil and Democrat Senator Tammy Baldwin sent letters to Governor Tony Evers and the heads of Operation Warp Speed to attain answers regarding the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine in Wisconsin.

“What we need to make sure is that we have transparency in our governments,” Steil told CBS 58 in a phone interview. “So that everyone is aware of where we’re at, and that ultimately we can roll this vaccine out as quickly as possible.”

Steil said it was important for he and Baldwin to work in bipartisan fashion for the effort.

“It’s really just coming together and saying let’s not let partisanship in any way, shape or form get in the way of a good and thoughtful rollout to protect people across the state of Wisconsin,” Steil said.

Meanwhile, the state Department of Health Services unveiled a new web page Tuesday to provide the public with some information on the distribution and administration of the vaccines.

“We are committed to providing the public with timely COVID-19 vaccine information,” DHS Secretary-designee Andrea Palm said in a statement. “Even though we’re in the early stages of the Wisconsin COVID-19 Vaccine Program, it is important for Wisconsinites to know where we stand and highlight the unprecedented work being done by COVID-19 vaccinators across the state.”
