Summerfest to allow water bottle carry-ins July 2-3 due to extreme heat

CBS 58

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Summerfest is modifying its carry-in policy Thursday, July 2, and Friday, July 3, due to extreme heat in the forecast.

The festival says patrons will temporarily be allowed to bring in one factory-sealed plastic water bottle (20 ounces or less) -- with the exception of the American Family Insurance Amphitheater.

Summerfest says they'll also offer misting stations and drinking water fountains throughout the grounds, and Milwaukee County Transit System buses inside the festival grounds will offer an air-conditioned, shaded place for visitors at the north and south ends of the park. Near the Mid Gate, kids can cool off in the Bo Black Family Fountain.

Guests are encouraged to drink water frequently, wear lightweight clothing, and take frequent breaks in shaded areas.
