MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Villa Terrace Museum & Gardens will host a viewing party for the year’s first supermoon on Sunday, Oct. 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. on its lakefront terrace.
Alec Story, executive director of Villa Terrace, joined us on Friday, Oct. 3 with a preview.
The Villa Luna event coincides with October’s Harvest Moon, which will appear larger and brighter as it reaches its closest point to Earth. While the full moon peaks Monday, it will appear full to the naked eye on Sunday as well. Astronomer Bob Bonadurer, director of the Daniel M. Soref Planetarium, will guide guests with a telescope set up on-site.
Villa Luna will also feature soft music, food and drinks. Villa Terrace, located at 2220 N. Terrace Ave., offers additional events in October, including dance classes, wine tastings and chess gatherings.
