Suspects offered to seal elderly Germantown man's driveway, stole his valuables instead

GERMANTOWN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Germantown Police are asking the public for help in identifying two suspects who burglarized an elderly man's home.

The Germantown resident was approached by two men on June 7. They offered to seal his driveway for $500. When the work was completed, the men demaned $2,500 and said they would only take cash.

The resident told police that he then located one of the male suspects inside his home. The suspect allegedly told the man that he was looking for additional tools.

On June 11, the resident discovered valuables, cash, and personal items missing from his bedroom.

Descriptions of the suspects are limited at this time. The first suspect is described as a white male with dark hair and approximately 140 pounds. The second suspect is described as a white male with dark hair and 230 pounds.

They are believed to be driving an Older Model White Chevy pickup truck pulling a trailer.

The men also provided a business card with the name 'Merelli Brothers Sealcoating.' The business card had a fake address listed.

Anyone with information is asked to call Germantown Police.
