Teen charged in shooting death of 14-year-old boy
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A teenager is now facing charges in connection to the death of a 14-year-old boy near 52nd and Clarke Jan. 21.
According to a criminal complaint, investigators spoke with a witness who said the victim and suspect were making videos with weapons in a garage when the shooting happened.
The witness told authorities the suspect was pointing the firearm around and fired one round at the victim, later identified as 14-year-old Sebastian Florentino, before saying, "sorry bro."
The complaint says the suspect allegedly continued shooting at Florentino before turning around and firing at the witness.
The suspect and another individual on scene then allegedly ran off.
Police say 14-year-old Sebastian Florentino died of his injuries and his 13-year-old brother was injured.
An autopsy ruled Florentino's manner of death homicide as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
The suspect faces three counts: first-degree reckless homicide (as a party to a crime), first-degree reckless injury (as a party to a crime) and possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent.
When questioned by investigators, the suspect admitted to being present in the garage and having a firearm. He said he was "playing around" with it when it "accidentally discharged one time," striking Sebastian.
The suspect said he then dropped the weapon and ran away.
