17-year-old high school junior, Rudy Hummel is sleeping outdoors for a cause tonight.



He is eight months into a quest to sleep outdoors every night for an entire year, in hopes to raise donations for Habitat for Humanity and a nature organization.



Hummel is from Hermantown, MN, but is in Milwaukee this weekend to help celebrate his grandfather's 90th birthday.

Hummel and his relatives built a quinzhee, or snow hut, in the backyard of his grandfather's home so his outdoor sleeping streak wouldn't be broken.
