Temperatures cool down with a round of frost possible Thursday morning

NOW: Temperatures cool down with a round of frost possible Thursday morning

The start to the week has been warm with highs in the 80s Sunday and Monday and low 70s on Tuesday. That warmth makes it nine days at/above 70 degrees this month which pushes the number of days at/above 70 degrees for the year to 145 which is tied for the second most on record and just five away from the record number of days at/above 70 at 150 days in 2021.

We will say, "bye" to the warmth the rest of the work week with highs in the low 60s Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Saturday looks to be the coolest day this week in the 50s then starting to warm a bit by Sunday around 60.

With the return of some chillier air, we could see frost return. Temperatures Thursday morning could drop into the 30s especially away from the Lake with even a few low 30s possible with an isolated freeze.

We won't have to worry about a frost or freeze Friday morning with rain and clouds overhead but some patchy frost is possible Saturday and Sunday mornings well away from the lakefront.

After a cold front rolled through Wisconsin Tuesday night the wind has shifted to the northwest and is very gusty to 30 mph. That wind will start to die down Wednesday afternoon then a light wind returns Thursday and Friday from 5-15 mph.
