MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Brian Jacobsen, an instructor of practice in finance at Marquette University, joined us on Tuesday, Nov. 26 to chat about the cost of Thanksgiving meals, citing a slight decline in prices compared to last year.
According to Jacobsen, items like turkey, potatoes and cranberries have seen price decreases, with cranberry prices reaching historic lows. He attributed the changes to weather, health issues impacting supply and shifts in consumer preferences.
He also noted that the cost of the meal depends on specific dishes, as turkey prices have dropped while chicken and beef prices have increased. He recommended comparison shopping and using grocery loyalty programs to save on costs.
