The Flamenco Nutcracker returns to South Milwaukee for fifth season
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- This version of The Nutcracker may leave you with a very different vision of sugar plums dancing in your head.
Kerensa DeMars created the Flamenco Nutcracker five years ago to combine her love of Flamenco music with the holiday favorite. It's unique twist with footwork, castanets, capes and ruffles.
"I think it’s a great way for people to be introduced to flamenco who might not have seen or heard of it before," said DeMars. "Through something familiar with a holiday story, The Nutcracker story, but bringing into the costuming, the live music and excitement of flamenco, and the footwork and all of those elements."
The South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center will show two performances of The Flamenco Nutcracker on Dec. 7 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Tickets are on sale now for the show.
