MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A partnership aimed at promoting the importance of wearing masks was announced on Tuesday, August 18.
The Hop and Mask Up MKE unveiled a streetcar featuring pictures of people wearing masks and a link to Mask Up MKE’s website.

The goal is to promote wearing a mask to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Mask Up MKE says free masks will be offered to streetcar riders.
Milwaukee Health Commissioner Jeanette Kowalik said there is still a long way to go in the fight against COVID-19, but certain precautions are making a difference.
“Just between July to know, in a month, we’ve made some great progress and we attribute the gains we’ve made to wearing masks.”
Anyone in need of a mask can get them for free at the Milwaukee Health Department.
