MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The annual Third Ward Art Festival will return to Milwaukee on Saturday, Aug. 31 and Sunday, Sept. 1, bringing together nearly 200 artists from across the United States.

According to a Thursday, Aug. 22 press release, the festival will be held along Broadway between St. Paul Ave. and Menomonee St. in the Third Ward, and will showcase a variety of artistic mediums, including ceramics, glass, jewelry, paintings, drawings, photography and sculpture.

In addition to viewing and buying artwork, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with artists through live demonstrations and booth chats. The festival also offers a hands-on experience with on-site painting classes.

The event is designed to be family-friendly, with an interactive kid’s art tent, face painting and various creative activities available for children.

Live music will be performed on two stages throughout the weekend, with food and drink options from neighboring restaurants and vendors being available. Beverage sales at three Historic Third Ward Association bars along Broadway will benefit the Association, with tips supporting the Downtown Milwaukee Dog Park.

The festival is free and open to the public, with parking available at the Historic Third Ward Parking Structures located at 212 N. Milwaukee St. and 225 E. Chicago St.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. Additional information, including an opportunity to win a $100 gift card to be spent on art during the festival, can be found by clicking here
