MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A local non-profit dedicated to feeding the hungry is re-locating.
The Gathering marked its final day on State Street in Milwaukee with a parking lot cookout.
The organization teamed up with Coakley Brothers and Pop's BBQ to feed hundreds of hungry and homeless individuals on Friday morning.
The Gathering calls the move 'bittersweet.'
"This has been home for two years. We've been in the downtown area for 37 years now and we're going a little bit north, but it's still within walking distance for our friends who come," said Lyn Hildenbrand, Executive Director, The Gathering.
"And I hope i'll be a part of them once they get set up. We want to come back and do another grand opening for them as well. I'm pretty sure I'm a man of my word. If they called me and wanted time, we'd help for them," said Michael Hester, Owner, Pop's BBQ.
The Gathering will now be located at the Running Rebels building on 13th and Fond du Lac.
