Thriftmas trend continues for 2025 as people shop second hand for decor and presents
WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Goodwill is once again making it easier, and cheaper, for people to shop for holiday decor and gifts.
They tell us that now is especially good for shoppers, as Goodwill Perks Plus members, through Friday, Dec. 12, can buy all toys are 30 percent off. Also, starting Monday, Dec. 15 through Saturday, Dec. 27 all holiday decor will be half off for members.
Thrifting can be good for your pocketbook, but Dawn Christman with Goodwill of Greater Milwaukee and Chicago highlights some of its other benefits.
"It’s really keeping things out of landfills and it’s really giving things that are looking brand new a second chance at life," said Christman.
With just a couple weeks left until Christmas, the Waukesha Goodwill has dozens of Christmas sweaters left, from cats to reindeer and sweaters that light up.
"There’s always some amazing sweaters. Just when you think you’ve seen the craziest one, there will be another one coming through," said Christman.
If you're looking to be more creative, she says the craft section is full of ribbon, garland and other fun accessories to make your own "ugly Christmas sweater."
