The visit to Milwaukee County came the same day Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley secured the Democratic nomination in the race.

While Republicans spent millions on attack advertisements against State Representative Francesca Hong in the race, Tiffany said he was prepared to run against whoever won the Democratic primary. 

“It really did not make a difference to me who the candidate was going to be."

Unlike Crowley, Tiffany ran largely uncontested. About 500,000 Republicans cast a ballot, while nearly 800,000 came out to vote for Democrats. On Fox Business Wednesday, Senator Ron Johnson said that ought to concern Tiffany. 

"Of course not he's not gonna run against Francesca Hong, he's probably going to have a more formidable opponent, so President Trump is going to have to encourage the people who voted for him not to vote for socialists like they did in New York, but to vote for Republicans," Sen. Johnson said. 

According to the Marquette University Law School Poll that surveyed voters at the end of July, Trump's approval rating had declined since the start of his second term until now. It hit 40% in July, up from 38% in June. 

"What you are going to see from my opponents is that they are going to run against President Trump," Tiffany said. "I'm going to run for the state of Wisconsin. I'm running to be the next governor of the state of Wisconsin."

We did see a few dozen people protesting outside Tiffany's stop in West Allis, with signs criticizing the congressman and calling him a "MAGA extremist." It paints a picture of the criticism he faces heading into November.
