Tow truck driver killed in Waukesha County hit and run crash, victim identified
WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department has identified the victim of Tuesday's hit and run death as Hussain Farhat who lived in Chicago.
The person suspected of being involved in the crash, a 39-year-old man, reportedly turned himself in and has been booked at the Waukesha County Hail for hit and run causing death.
VILLAGE OF SUMMIT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Waukesha County Sheriff's Office says a tow truck driver is dead after being struck on the shoulder of eastbound I-94 east of Sawyer Rd., in the Village of Summit.
Officials say it happened on Tues. Dec. 24th at around 6:41 p.m. when the tow operator was loading a disabled vehicle when he was struck by a blue minivan that fled the scene.
The Sheriff's Office says the blue minivan did not stop and continued eastbound I94 until it exited at Hwy C in an unknown direction.
The 40-year-old victim was transported to Aurora Summit where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Village of Summit Police Department, the City of Delafield Police Department, Lake County Fire Department and Western Lakes Fire Department.
