Trial begins for man accused of killing Las Vegas journalist and MU alum Jeff German

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Almost two years ago, investigative journalist and Marquette University graduate Jeff German was stabbed to death in Las Vegas.

On Wednesday, Aug. 14, his alleged killer went on trial.

His name is Robert Telles, a former public administrator for Clark County in Nevada.

German had written stories about Telles and Telles reportedly believed those stories led to his election defeat.

On Wednesday, a jury was chosen, and opening statements were made.

Telles has pleaded not guilty.
