MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- For the second year in a row, turtles are taking over Milwaukee's Discovery World.

Turtle Fest is a three-day celebration with the purpose of teaching kids more about our region's waterways.

The weekend got off to an exciting start, with a birthday celebration that was full of energy for Beep the turtle!

CBS 58 talked to one employee who talked about why turtles are a fan favorite at Discovery World.

"Turtles are amazing," said Paul Fladten, director of marketing and communications. "There's just something about them when you see them. First, you think they are a little slow, then it turns out they are actually faster than you think but they are just this amazing animal that represents discovery world, represents Wisconsin and they are our ambassadors here, they are our favorite animals here at the Ryman aquarium."
