Two arrested for throwing puppies into retention pond in Fond du Lac

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Two puppies are being cared for after investigators say they were thrown into a retention pond in Fond du Lac. 

Police were called to the pond just before 5:30 Monday evening on Rolling Meadows Drive and Hickory Street. 

Witnesses reported seeing a 22-year-old man spinning the dogs around over his head before throwing them 10 to 20 feet out into the pond.

The man and a 20-year-old woman from Georgia were arrested for animal mistreatment.
