MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police are investigating a crash that injured several children and an officer Tuesday night.
According to police, officers witnessed a suspicious vehicle near N. 15th St. and W. Capitol Dr. around 10:30 p.m. It matched the description from a robbery nearby. When officers attempted to stop it, the car drove off.
The car eventually rear ended another car near N. 16th St. and W. Keefe Ave. That vehicle then hit a parked car, which struck a 7-year-old boy and 9-year-old boy. The children were taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
A 28-year-old man and 30-year-old woman were taken into custody and are being treated for minor injuries.
While at the scene, the arresting officer was struck by a responding officer's squad and sustained serious, non-life threatening injuries. The officer is 34-years-old and a five year veteran on the force.
Milwaukee Police continue to investigate the incident.
