MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Dr. Jeff Pothof, Chief Quality Officer at UW Health, joined us on Tuesday, May 30 to discuss key health issues that have been making recent headlines.
He mentioned a new clinical trial for a universal flu vaccine at Duke University, and emphasized the urgent need for more healthcare workers in primary care, dental health and mental health sectors.
Dr. Pothof also discussed the rising problem of chronic pain, with new cases now outpacing diabetes, depression or high blood pressure, discussing developments in treatment options.
He also touched on a recall of Ezricare eye drops and CDC warnings about potential monkeypox risks at summer gatherings.
